Morning Glory (Netflix) : Review Film
In spare time, I usually spend it watching movie or serial on Netflix and I want to give a movie recommendation. This film was directed by Roger Michell and starring A-list actors such as Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford, and Diane Keaton, with Patrick Wilson, John Pankow, and Jeff Goldblum. It was released on November 12, 2010, and I enjoy watching this film and here's what I thought about this film.
In the process of mass communication, gatekeeping can be
interpreted as the process of sorting, selection, and adjustment of information
to be conveyed to the audience. So, before any information is submitted to the
audience, the information will undergo filtering first, and the process of
filtering or sorting this information will be done by a party called
gatekeeper. Gatekeeper itself is a term used for parties who perform a gatekeeping process.
In this movie
Becky as a gatekeeper, she manages a piece of information and selected them to make the news. She works as an executive producer in her program and she is trying to
keep her program still running. She finds other things and information to
make the rate increase, such as replace McVee with a legend journalist who has
work 40 years in television named Mike Pomeroy. Daybreak is a morning show which
is at a low rate and lack of direction. Due to she is an executive producer, she
responsible for every decision in her field. She selected the information that
will be presented. She wants to make a unique from this program, trying a new
experience And involves its host to be directly involved in the script.
Used
colloquially as a noun
or adjective,
"highbrow" is synonymous
with intellectual;
as an adjective, it also means elite,
and generally carries a connotation
of high culture.
The term middlebrow describes easily accessible art,
usually literature,
and the people who use the arts to acquire culture and “class” (social
prestige). First used in the British satire magazine Punch
in 1925, the term middlebrow is the intermediary “brow” descriptor
between highbrow
and lowbrow,
which are terms derived from the pseudo-science of phrenology?
Low culture is a derogatory term for forms of popular culture that have mass
appeal. Its contrast is high culture. It has been said by culture theorists that both high
culture and low culture are subcultures.
Based on this movie Mike as a highbrow because he has an elite behavior, for the
middlebrow, the character is Becky Fuller and the last is lowbrow in this movie the audience being a lowbrow.
